Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well
Rig: Bearcat Rig 2
Activity: Drilling in the Supai Formation
Drilling continued from 2,515 ft to 2,530 ft. The workstring was retrieved to the casing shoe to replace packing on the swivel. The swivel packing was replaced and the workstring was lowered to 2,530 ft. Drilling continued from 2,530 ft to 2,721 ft.
Observations
  • Daily activities summarized to 6:00 a.m. August 22.
  • Drilling Fluid Properties: Mud weight = 10.1 lb/gal; Plastic viscosity = 5 cp; Yield point = 14 lb/100 ft2; Filter loss = 3.8 cc/30 min.
  • Chlorides = 130,000 ppm; Solids = 3.3 %.

Drilling Activity for Saturday, August 22, 2009
Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well
Rig: Bearcat Rig 2
Activity: Drilling in the Supai Formation
The well was circulated to clean the hole and the workstring was retrieved to the casing shoe. Operations were suspended to allow the crews to obtain H2S Safety Training. The crew resumed retrieval of the workstring but operations were suspended to cut drill line (damaged section of line observed). The bit was retrieved from the wellbore and replaced. The drilling assembly was lowered into the wellbore to bottom (no fill on bottom) and drilling resumed. Drilling continued from 2,721 ft to 2,855 ft at an average rate of penetration of 11.6 ft/hr.
Observations
  • Daily activities summarized to 6:00 a.m. on August 23.
  • Drilling Fluid Properties: Mud weight = 10.0 lb/gal; Plastic viscosity = 5 cp; Yield point = 14 lb/100 ft2; Filter loss = 4.0 cc/30 min.
  • Chlorides = 125,000 ppm; Solids = 3.5%.
