Drilling Activity for Sunday, August 23, 2009 |
Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well |
Rig: Bearcat Rig 2 |
Activity: Drilling in Naco Formation |
Drilling continued from 2,855 ft to 2,890 ft at an average rate of penetration (ROP) of 10.8 ft/hr. A borehole inclination survey was taken, and indicated a hole angle of 1 degree at 2,850 ft. Drilling continued from 2,890 ft to 3,022 ft at an average ROP of 6.8 ft/hr. The rotating head rubber was replaced. |

Drilling Activity for Monday, August 24, 2009 |
Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well |
Rig: Bearcat Rig 2 |
Activity: Drilling in the Naco Formation |
The workstring was retrieved from the wellbore due to low rate of penetration. The bit was inspected and indicated severe damage (locked cones, broken and chipped cutters). The bit was replaced and the workstring was lowered into the wellbore. The wellbore was reamed from 2,982 ft to 3,022 ft to ensure the wellbore was clear of solids fill (no fill located on bottom). Drilling resumed and continued from 3,022 ft to 3,200 ft. |
Observations |
- Daily activities summarized to 6:00 a.m. on August 25.
- Drilling Fluid Properties: Mud weight = 10.1 lb/gal; Plastic viscosity = 5 cp; Yield point = 16 lb/100 ft2; Filter loss = 4.2 cc/30 min.
- Chlorides = 125,000 ppm; Solids = 3.8%.
- Mud Loggers indicate 60% shale, 30% limestone, and 10% anhydrite at 3,185 ft.
